TASK

For the final project, we are each person to produce 2 designs. I was assigned to do 1 poster and 1 reels. A our campaign 'Fuel The Hustle', has 3 drinks, I was assigned to design the first drink menu, which is 'Australian Chocolate Marshmallow'.

Below is the first draft of design#1. As it is an Instagram feed post, the size is 1080px x 1350px. As the campaign is about students, I decided to use student-related elements such as locker, tape, and corkboard. For the typography, we are using Montserrat. Here I made the offset path for the title. After showing Mr.Max this design, he mentioned that he the design feels too boxed because of the corkboard frame which makes the drink does not feel premium, as if it is trapped inside the board. The QR code are too small in a note to read which makes the CTA weak.

Below is the first draft of design#2.  This design also uses student-related elements such as notes background, board, tape, and pushpins. Also the design still consistency using blue and white identity of ZUS Coffee. After feedback session from Mr.Max, he mentioned that this design version more dynamic, but the composition feels unfinished. Sir mentioned that although the details like  “100% Australian Cocoa” and “Chewy Marshmallow” helps in explaining the product, it needs better placement and  hierarchy. In addition, the brown tape at the top also feels decorative but does not add much meaning.

Therefore I am suggested to revise:
1. Make the product benefit labels cleaner and easier to read.
2. Remove unnecessary tape or decorative pieces that does not support any message
3. Make the student offer more prominent.
4. Ensure placement of QR code is clear and not too small.
5. Balance the layout so it does not feel like many elements are pasted randomly.

Below is the revision of design#2. For the heading, we are using Montserrat. While for the other text, we look for a more playful sans serif font which is Segoe Print. On the revised design, I changed the notes background into locker to maintain consistency with the other post that my other group members made. Here, I added the image of marshmallow, with white outline to resembles notes and student lifestyle. In addition, I would also highlight the marshmallow as a free companion to Australian Chocolate for students stated on the paper cut notes and tape on the centre. I also decided to use the ID card image to further enhance this campaign is exclusive for students. While for the CTA, I also include the 'Scan to Redeem' text above the QR code which will direct audience to the ZUS app to input their student ID to redeem the free marshmallow voucher.

As to have the campaign more visible to audience and to raise awareness, we decided to adapt the product promotion feed post as an Instagram story too. I start in Adobe Illustrator with the frame size 1080px x 1920px. Then I made 2 layout for the Instagram story. The left side deisgn feels too heavy on the right as the ID card, marhsmallow and QR code are to the right side. I decided to chose the right side design as it has a clearer hierarchy.

REFLECTION

The final stage of the module focused on design, which was one of the most enjoyable parts of the process. We were able to turn our campaign ideas and proposals into design outcomeso. Creating the Reels together with my teammates was also a fun experience. Overall, this module helped me gain a deeper understanding of campaign development, audience engagement, maintaining consistent interaction, and the importance of creating cohesive branding across different platforms.
