REFLECTION

What have I learnt in this module?

Throughout this 7 weeks, I have a deeper understanding of each of the design principles taught. Now I am able to see things differently in a better way. Realized that every design I see everyday actualy has it's own meanig to convey and applied design principles to please our eyes. I am also able to better apply design principle on my artworks.

What did I enjoy the most?

I enjoy the most in Task 2, where we are not limited to only improve the original design but could also come up with new idea. Here I could freely pour my ideas and express it into my sketches. I could explore variations of ideas and tried to imply the design principles, it's like putting together puzzles.

What did I not enjoy the most?

During the process of coloring in Adobe Illustrator, it is quite lagging and freeze sometimes, maybe because I used too much brush strokes added with blur effect.

What have I learnt about myself through this module?

I've come to be able to better express myself and apply it on my artwork. I was not really confident before to express my ideas, however throughout this module, I'm giving more originality and creativity and with Dr.Charles support and guidance I could perform well.

What has changed and what has not in my learning journey?

I am now more an obserant person when looking at a design. In our everyday life, we see designs everywhere, anywhere. Lately, I could ask myself in mind 'why is this designed like that?', 'why do they put this element here?', 'I think they are telling more than what we can see" and more thoughts like that. What has not changed is I think to much, even when in doing task 1, I am already worried about task 3.

What are my aspirations?

I hope that the lesson learned here could be the foundation that guide me to produce a better work in the future.
